The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned three suspects, including a 12-year-old boy, before a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, over alleged conspiracy, threat to life, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The defendants—identified as Obe Rasaq (12), Jamiu Jimoh (32), and Seye Fapohun (20)—were brought before the court on charges bordering on conspiracy to commit a felony, threatening violence, and illegal possession of a locally made gun.

According to the charge sheet, the suspects allegedly conspired on November 11, 2025, at about 10:00 a.m. at Araromi Village in the Odeda Magisterial District to threaten the life of Hon. Muinu Bolomope.

The prosecutor, Insp. Johnson Jalinale, alleged that the threat was carried out with a locally made firearm.

The prosecutor further told the court that the defendants were found to be in unlawful possession of a single-barrel, locally fabricated gun without a valid licence, an offence contrary to the laws of Ogun State.

The offences were said to contravene Sections 516 and 86 (1 and 2) of the Criminal Code, Cap 17, Volume II, Laws of Ogun State, 2006, as well as relevant provisions relating to illegal possession of firearms.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The presiding Magistrate, B.O Ogunmodede adjourned the case till January 12, 2026, for further hearing, while granting each of the suspects to a bail of N200, 000, with Two sureties.

The case is being prosecuted by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command.
