Operatives of the Ogun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, have arrested two suspected cult members allegedly involved in terrorizing communities in the Ipokia axis over the past two months.

The suspects — Rafiu Saheed, 23, and Raji Selim, 22 — were apprehended on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, around 11:00 p.m. in the Owotedo area of Ajegunle-Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area. A third suspect, identified as Idowu Ganiu, 25, reportedly escaped arrest.

According to the Agency, the successful operation followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance on the gang, which is believed to have been involved in several violent crimes, including kidnapping and murder, in the area.

The suspects were intercepted while riding an unregistered red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle along the Ipokia–Idiroko route, allegedly en route to carry out a criminal operation. A search conducted by Amotekun operatives led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol, one live cartridge, an axe, and the unregistered motorcycle.

Amotekun authorities urged residents, community leaders, and parents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly, noting that public cooperation remains vital in sustaining security efforts across the state.

The two suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution alongside the recovered exhibits.
