Barely weeks after delivering a widely acclaimed Hooding Lecture at Covenant University, the Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, is set to present his Inaugural Lecture at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, where he was appointed Professor of Business Administration and Marketing years ago.

The programme, which marks Babcock University’s 57th Inaugural Lecture, themed “It Is Time to Use Functional Businesses to Kill Poverty in Africa,” is scheduled to be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

The event will further reinforce Prof. Asikhia’s stature as one of Nigeria’s foremost scholars and thought leaders in entrepreneurship, management, and innovation.

As Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University — and having just delivered the 2025 Hooding Lecture for Postgraduate students at Covenant University — Prof. Asikhia’s forthcoming Inaugural Lecture at Babcock University represents a rare academic milestone that embodies intellectual excellence, institutional leadership, and inter-university collaboration.

His dual recognition by two of Nigeria’s leading private universities underscores his remarkable influence as a bridge between theory and practice, vision and transformation.

Expectedly, his exploits have earned commendations from both the media and academia, having deepened the research culture, enhanced scholarly engagement, and strengthened Caleb University’s commitment to innovation-driven and values-based education.

A statement signed by Olawale Adekoya, Information, Media and Publication Specialist, noted that the entire Caleb University community heartily congratulates Prof. Asikhia on this distinguished academic honour and celebrates his consistent efforts in projecting the University’s excellence through scholarship, leadership, and national contributions.
