The Labour Party, under the national leadership of Barr. Julius Abure and Alhaji Farouk Umar Ibrahim, has successfully conducted its ward congresses across all 236 wards in Ogun State.
The exercise, held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, covered the three senatorial districts of the state. It was supervised by the Chairman of the Ogun State Congress Committee, Dr. Ayodele Olorunfemi, who also serves as the Deputy National Chairman (South), and the committee’s Secretary, Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, the National Vice Chairman (South-West).
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the congresses across all 20 local government areas of the state.
According to the Notice of Congress approved by the Labour Party’s National Executive Council (NEC) and acknowledged by INEC Headquarters, the Local Government Congresses are scheduled to hold simultaneously on Thursday, December 4, while the State Congress will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Iwe Iroyin (NUJ) State Secretariat in Abeokuta.
Additionally, screening for all eligible candidates seeking positions in the State Executive Committee will be conducted on Friday, December 5, also at Iwe Iroyin.
During the ward congresses monitored by our correspondent, various ward executives and five ex-officio members were elected across the state.
