Members of the Taraba State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), along with those who recently joined the party, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Among the defectors is the Speaker of the House. The lawmakers said their decision was prompted by the ongoing crisis within the PDP at the national level and the need to align with the ruling party at the centre to ensure greater federal presence in Taraba State.
The mass defection comes ahead of Governor Agbu Kefas’s planned move to the APC on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

With the latest defections, all 24 members of the Taraba State House of Assembly are now on the platform of the APC.
