August 16 By-election: Ogun IPAC aligns With Gov Dapo Abiodun, warns against Violence

The Ogun State chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC has warned against any violence on Saturday by election in Remo Federal Constituency.

Addressing a Press Conference while reacting to a statement credited to Ogun State Governor, Comrade Sanyaolu Abayomi, the State IPAC Chairman said the body will not tolerate any acts of hooliganism, thuggery and distruption of the Saturday by election in Remo Federal Constituency.

His words, the attention of Inter Party Advisory council , Ogun State Chapter has been drawn to the statement by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, where he warned that his administration will deal decisively with anyone attempting to disrupt Saturday’s by-election in the Remo Federal Constituency.

Further more , the council also took curious notice of the fact that Saturday bye election poll is not a battle, but a democratic process to elect a replacement for the late Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, who represented the constituency in the House of Representatives.

Ogun State inter party Advisory council noted that the Governor in his statements said he have heard that some people are issuing threats against Saturday bye election and such threat will not be taken lightly since the Governor is the Chief Security officer of the state

Ogun State Inter Party Advisory council wishes to make it clear that anyone who causes trouble on Saturday will be dealt with in line with all extant law of the land as we advise all political parties eschews violence as any threats that will set Ogun State on fire or make the state ungovernable will not succeed.

Our council wishes to make it clear that anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.

The Ogun State Inter Party Advisory council here by emphasised that the by-election should be devoid of thuggery and violence and should be used as an opportunity to sustain the quality representation provided by the late Hon. Onanuga.

Finally Ogun State inter party Advisory council here by enjoyed all political parties and their candidates to play by the rules of the election as IPAC will not stand in with any violence perpetrated by anybody
