The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM)has reminded the federal Government of its seven days warning strike.

In a letter by the Bayelsa State Secretary Nurse Fii Torubari Samuel to the Chairman State Administrative Council Members, Unit Chairperson, and Secretaries, the association directs its members to proceed on a seven day warning strike with effect from Tomorrow.

According to the letter the Association reminds them that the Fifteen day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government by the National Headquarters of NANNM expires, 29th July, 2025.

The letter reads ” Regrettably The Federal Government had not responded positively to our demands for improved welfare and fair treatment.

“In accordance with directives of the National Executive Council (NEC) (Ref: NANNM/ADM/41/VI/77), all Nurses and and Midwives across all health care institutions Federal, State, and Local Government are to proceed on a seven day national warning strike, effective from 12:01am on Wednesday, 30th July to Tuesday 6th August,2025.

The Association further directed all its members to totally comply as the industrial action is to the best interest of the profession and that any act of sabotage will be viewed as a serious breach of the association’s collective interest.

The letter further reads that ” Your corporate is vital to the success of this action and the advancement of our professional cause. Together we shall continue to uphold the dignity, right and welfare of all Nurses and Midwives across the nation.
