The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old woman, Hadiza Mamuda for k!lling her husband in Fika Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, July 23, said the suspect allegedly beat her husband to d3ath with a log of wood during a heated argument over food.

“The Yobe State Police Command, Fika Divisional Police Headquarters, has apprehended Hadiza Mamuda, 35, of Garin Abba Village, Fika LGA, for allegedly k!lling her husband following a heated argument over food. The suspect reportedly used a log of wood to fatally assault the victim,” the statement read.

“Investigation is underway, and the suspect will be arraigned in court subsequently. The victim, a polygamous husband with two wives and five children, including the accused, leaves behind a grieving family.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, psc fdc, emphasizes the need for marital community intervention initiatives to address domestic violence and abuse. He urges religious leaders to intensify sensitization campaigns on the dangers of physical violence in marital affairs.

“The Command remains committed to maintaining security and safety for all citizens.”
