The Ogun State chapter of Action Democratic Party, (ADP) has denied any move by the Party to join any coalition or merger ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The resolution was made in Abeokuta , the Ogun State Capital during the Party Executives and Stakeholders meeting held on Friday.
The meeting which was attended by all Party Executives and other stakeholders, in the State and which lasted for about Five hours, clarified that ADP in Ogun State will not join any coalition or Otunba Segun Sowunmi movement, ‘The Alternative ‘, but rather, remains open to welcoming individuals and groups committed to promoting good governance in the State.
“The meeting resolved that the ADP in Ogun State is not part of any Coalition or merger or The Alternative, However, it welcomes any party, persons, or groups willing to join it with a view to wrestling power and enthroning good leadership in Ogun State.
According to the State Chairperson of ADP, Ambassador Yeye Olufunke Olanrewaju, the Party warns its members to stay off any movement, coalition, assuring that the Party has been repositioned to change the narratives come 2027 general elections.
She said with the arrays of quality leaders in the Party, and the readiness of all members, there is every assurance that ADP will unseat the All Progressives Congress from Oke-Mosan, therefore calling for cooperation and dedication from its members.
Those who attended the meeting include the Governorship Candidate of the Party during the 2023 general elections, Hon. Chief Olanrewaju Sokunbi, State Chairperson, Amb. Yeye Olufunke Olanrewaju.
Others are Comrade Ola Olamide, Deputy Chairmen, Alh Taofik Ogunremi, Hon O Omoyayi, Imam Akeem Kewusola ,Chief Mrs Majekondunmi and others.
