The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a man found in possession of a fresh female breast, along with three other suspects involved in the kidnapping of a truck driver and diversion of goods meant for delivery in Asaba, Delta State.

A press release issued by the spokesperson of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, also revealed that the kidnapped truck driver was rescued unhurt by operatives of the command.

Ikenga stated that the arrests and rescue operations were carried out on Saturday and Sunday, as a result of the sustained efforts of police operatives in collaboration with other security agencies.

He disclosed that a 25-year-old man, Samuel Eze, was arrested by a joint security team comprising officers attached to the Awada Police Station and Anambra Vigilante Operatives while on patrol.

The incident reportedly occurred along Jude Onyekwere Street, Awada, Obosi on Sunday at about 3 pm.

“He was arrested with a woman’s breast, it was recovered immediately and deposited at the morgue for preservation, while the suspect is undergoing Police interrogations for necessary Police investigative actions and prosecution,” Ikenga stated.

In a separate operation, officers attached to the Rapid Response Squad, acting on credible intelligence, rescued a kidnapped truck driver on Saturday.

Ikenga said: “The team also recovered a truck loaded with custard powder worth N9.5 million and arrested three suspects involved in the criminal act.

“The suspects, all males—Udegenyi Ugochukwu, 38, Anayochukwu Okonkwo, 47, and Good Odigili, 47—confessed that the goods were to be delivered to a warehouse at Asaba, Delta State, before they abducted the driver, tied him in the bush, and diverted the goods to Enugwu Ukwu.”

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to public safety, noting that joint security surveillance and patrols comprising the police, military, Civil Defence, Immigration, DSS, and operatives of the Anambra Vigilante Group are ongoing across the state
