In a bold show of solidarity, the Fausat Asakun Memorial Foundation (FAM), has thrown its weight behind the governorship aspiration of the senator representing Ogun West at the National Assembly, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, declaring that he is the best foot to put forward by the senatorial district in 2027.

FAM Foundation, a foremost grassroots-driven humanitarian organization with over a decade of service across Ogun West, equally backed a socio-political group, Ogun-West Initiative, for faulting speculations of desperation surrounding his aspiration, describing such narratives as “the cries of the threatened, and not the informed”.

The Foundation’s Director of Operations, Olunla Adeyemi Adesola, who stated this in a statement at the weekend in Ilaro, the headquarters of Yewa South Local Government, said the senator, otherwise known as Yayi, represents the most credible opportunity of Ogun West in nearly five decades to occupy the top seat of the State.

According to Adesola, “What some call desperation is in fact dedication. Ogun West has waited for 49 years. It is time to match vision with action and YAYI is that action.”

The Foundation lauded the developmental scorecard of Senator Adeola, citing over 250 executed projects and direct empowerment of over 40,000 Constituents in just two years, with massive empowerment for youth groups and market women.

“From boreholes to school infrastructure, ICT centers to market stalls, bursaries to ambulances, his fascinating impact is both measurable and multi-dimensional, it is on this note that I boldly re-affirm that FAM has been supporting only leaders who serve, not those who speak in riddles and vanish after elections.”, Adesola remarked.

Known for its community outreach, health interventions, and youth/education development projects, Fausat Asakun Memorial Foundation, stated that its endorsement of YAYI’s aspiration was based on alignment of values, equity, inclusion, and visible results.

“We are a non-partisan foundation, but when leadership capacity aligns with the cries of the people, we must take a stand,” the statement added.

Calling for unity within Ogun West, it urged other aspirants to eschew personal ambition and embrace a collective front, saying that, “Ogun West cannot afford to truncate its chances in 2027”.

“Senator Adeola is not just a governorship hopeful, he is a convergence point for the hope of an entire region. Ogun West is no longer knocking on the door of leadership. With YAYI, we are ready to walk boldly through it”, Adesola submitted in the statement.
