The Ogun State chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Wednesday held its consultative meeting with major stakeholders to discuss the position of the party, and deepen coalition integration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting which was held at the Party Secretariat at Itoko Abeokuta has in attendance major stakeholders, major political parties in the coalition interest groups and others.
Speaking at the event, Otunba Femi Soluade, the Ogun State Chairman of ADC said the meeting which came at the instance of the National Secretariat of the Party, is being held in all the 36 States of the Country including Abuja and it is a grassroots movement to make the party visible across the country.
Otunba Soluade who welcomed the Party faithful to the meeting emphasized that the coalition came in order to salvage the country from its various challenges.
He tagged the coalition as a political tsunami that shows how serious the Party is in taking over governance come 2027, and also carries Party members along in its grassroots presence and deepen coalition integration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Today”s meeting is a fall out from the resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Our great Party and is backed by the National Working Committee (NWC), with the aim of bringing together political parties, civil society organizations, labour unions, and well-meaning patriots who have consistently demonstrated interest in joining forces with ADC’s coalition framework.
“The idea is to take the vision, mission, and rescue agenda of ADC and its partners to the people, where it truly belongs,” he said.
He urged all stakeholders to remain resolute and ready to salvage the Country from going into total economic and political oblivion.
Also speaking, an ADC Chieftain Rasaq Eyiowuawi thanked ADC leadership for the pact, saying that the coalition will help in the bid of the Party to be a formidable alternative to the misgovernment of APC.
He charged all members of the coalition to see the movement as a gathering of equals, and worked together to achieve the aims it was formed.
“Let every member spread the gospel to all nooks and crannies of the State and adopt Jehovah Witness approach in wooing electorates to see a better alternative and join forces in repositioning the Country.
Other Speakers like Labour Party representatives, Omoluabi group and others said the coalition came in order to rescue Nigeria from the grips of nepotism, hunger, impunity, corruption, insecurity, insurgency, and poor governance.
They vowed to work together in order to change the narratives.
