Groups Join Forces to Fight Against Malaria in Ogun
..Distributes ITNs, free Malaria test and treatment
In a continued effort to eliminate Malaria to zero level by 2030 in Nigeria, as projected by experts, the HACEY and AIICO insurance company have joined forces to Fight Malaria scourge in Ogun community.
The initiative was motivated by the HACEY distributing over 200 Insecticide Treated Nets, Malaria drugs and free malaria treatment.
Speaking at the medical outreach, Mr Bamidele Oyewunmi, the programme Team Lead, stated that the effort is to ensure that all communities become zero Malaria.
He posited that pregnant women and nursing mothers are the most vulnerable to Malaria, lamenting that over 100,000 person(s) die of Malaria annually.
He noted that to celebrate this year, World Malaria Day, they have decided to reinvest in the interventions and programmes that promote good healthy living, ensuring that community people are in good health.
He urged the beneficiaries to maintain a clean environment and make use of insecticide-treated Nets effectively and Malaria will be eradicated.
Oyewunmi encouraged people to always check their Malaria status, adding that there are always resources to bring Malaria to zero level if people are ready to embrace good health-seeking behaviour.

“HACEY and AIICO Insurance have come together to distribute 500 Insecticide-treated Nets to people; we also provide them with free Malaria tests while referring those who are positive to the hospital for free care”.

Also speaking at the event, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer Agemo Margaret disclosed that with the effort of the Foundation and support from the government, zero Malaria is achievable.
Agemo posited there is a low level of Malaria due to the state government effort and organisations like the HACEY
She admonished the beneficiaries to sleep regularly on the Insecticide-treated Nets, discouraging them from using them for something irrelevant.
In his submission to the Iman of Ajegunle and WDC Chairman in Abeokuta South Local Government, Imam Morufudeen Okikiolu commended HACEY and AIICO insurance for their joint effort to end Malaria in their community.
He encouraged people to sleep under mosquito Nets.
