There’s nowhere you go you will not see Judas – Provost FCAI

The provost Federal College of Agriculture Ishiagu Ebonyi state, Dr Michael Okechukwu Okoronkwo, said in every institution there’s always a mole whose stock in trade are to tannish the image of the leadership of such organization.
The provost made the statement when he briefed some select newsmen in his office Ishiagu Federal College of Agriculture.
Okoronkwo stated that his administration has given the staff of the institution the enabling environment to further their academics asserting that in House Service was key to academic excellence adding those who are into academics and finds it difficult to advance their academic pursuit may not get to their zenith academically.
He said his administration has attracted empowerment items to the Youths and women of the host community noting he has tailored his activities to the advancement of educational careers of the school staff and the host community.
He explained that moles are synonymous to organized systems any where in the world over, saying he has called on the heads of departments HODs to furnish his office with the names of the staff in their various units as that would enable his office detect those who finds delight at being absent from duties.He maintained that he was the only provost that has attracted full accreditations of all the departments.
He added that the school has the total of three thousand students and one thousand one hundred staff adding the management was making plans to recruit more staff and possibly admit more students owing to the new innovations in the institution.
“Just by the Special Grace of God when I assumed office on the 20th August,2020, I promised I will serve the Community, the students and the Ishiagu as a whole and ever since I have been doing my best to make sure that promise I made to Almighty God is actualized and ever since, I have been doing my best and I don’t think you people went round all the projects”
“Did you take them to the Cattle side, the live stock side. If you see the Cattle the herdsmen there are overwhelmed because of the number of cattles we have there.According to them, they said they are too many and they are looking for more herders to enable them feed the cattles and God has been helping us to achieve this and I’m happy you saw the pigry, the poultry and the fish farm”
“So, God has been helping us. We are trying to key into the food security agenda of Mr president so that there will be food security everywhere. That’s why I’m surprised people are writing petition against our administration. You know it’s just a share jealousy because they have seen my performances and you know envy will always set in. The jealousy aspect of human beings will come out because when I look at the achievements, I have made, it surprises me that people will see mirage of activities going on the college and they will still come up to petition me, so it’s actually act of jealousy because they have seen that they cannot get to the standard I have reached”
“That is my own thinking about that. presently, we have close to three thousand students and we have one thousand one hundred staff and we are trying to recruit more staff because i just succeeded in accrediting all the whole departments in the college which is a feat no other provost has achieved since the inception of the college. I am the only provost that has succeeded in getting one hundred percent Accreditation. So, that means there’s going to be an influx of students in the next academic section and we have started seeing the effects. Any moment from now you will see an explosion of students into the school and that will now lead us into recruitment of additional staff, because if we have good number of students, it will encourage us to recruit more staff, so that they will be able to handle the number of students and the relationship with the host community remains very cordial ”
If you meet the ndiEzes, they were the ones that recommended that I should be given a chieftency title. When they first came, I told them no, I don’t need such title and I didn’t know how they went and met the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo world wide. I was surprised when the leadership called me, provost we have heard all you have been doing, we want to give you a title and I was surprised when they came here and I said before the title I would like to take you round the school so that you confirm those things you heard and after going round they said they are changing the title they had in mind to another one that would suit my records.and I said okay no problems and they gave me Ozoha 1 of Igboland, that is it”
“Recently, the USaid invited me because they heard what I have been doing and would like to give you an Ambassadorial awards, as you see me I’m an ambassador, Dr Michael Okechukwu Okoronkwo. This is the international ID Card.when you scan this passport you will see my name in the computer. I’m an ambassador of United Nations you can see how jealous people are especially when you are performing. Aside from training a lot of rural women and unemployed Youths, we empowered them with money and some equipment to enable them startup farming”
“Just recently, I got five kekenapep, the One that Carry’s load I gave it to the people of the community. This was part of government’s empowerment but on my own, i purchased two to make it seven. I called the poorest of the poor to come and pick it. I said come over to the School and they came and I gave them the keke. I called Senator Anyim Pius Anyim to give me name of someone from a very poor background from his community he said for what, I told him to pick a Keke . The person came when I said enter this Keke and go home the young man was very surprised and I have sponsored a good number of staff in the college on in-service training”
“Because I noticed, each time they go to training it was always hard for them to get their certificates after graduation, they will not be able to get their certificate ,so I called on the leadership of the academic staff union. The Union said money was their constraints and I decided to release money to them to give their members to get their certificates”
A good number of them have gotten their certificates and they have come to thank me and this year I will sponsor more of the programs which covers Mscs and Phds, these are things we have been doing, my PRO is one of the beneficiaries. I don’t even know the people, all I do is take this money and give to my staff to advance their academics, so that they can fit in because you know if you are into academics, there’s a stage you will reach you can’t be promoted again except you gets an additional qualification and since then they have been joy in the institution”
“Don’t forget that everywhere you go you must see Judas and good number of them are here but because of what we have done, there’s nothing they can do to us. I always tell people that there are people you would want to take to heaven, they will say no, you are stupid who told you I want to go to heaven. This is because they are comfortable with hell fire , so you don’t equate your sense with theirs”
I came here on the mantra of peace. The five Rs in my administration: the first one was reconciliation, so when I came on board I started reconciliation of polarized bodies in the institution like Unions staff and students etc “
