The Chairperson, Nigeria Airforce Wives Association (NAFOWA), Mrs. Lovette Ebiowe has advocated for a better research, treatment, and funding for cancer, recognizing the invaluable role of caregivers in providing support and love to those battling the disease.
The NAFOWA Chairperson Tactical Air Command, Makurdi stayed this during a speech delivered at a Cancer Awareness Day seminar, in Makurdi, Benue State.
The NAFOWA Chairperson also called for a proactive approach to health and support for those affected by the disease, emphasizing the need for human connection and solidarity in the fight against cancer.
In addition to raising awareness, Mrs. Ebiowe emphasized the importance of education, empowerment, and unity in the fight against cancer, stating that “no one should face this disease alone”.
She highlighted the impact of cancer on millions of lives each year and stressed the importance of early detection through regular screenings and self-examinations.
She urged the public to play a crucial part in the fight against cancer, “whether by educating others, supporting patients, or working towards change”.
Mrs. Ebiowe expressed gratitude to the attendees for their commitment to raising awareness, bringing hope, and fighting for a future where cancer no longer has the power to devastate lives.
The Chairperson, Nigeria Airforce Wives Association, (NAFOWA), and organiser of the roadshow stated that the essence of the exercise was to promote fitness and healthy lifestyle among wives of the Military personnel.
In her remarks at the seminar, Mrs. Lovette Ebiowe emphasized the importance of early detection and prevention of cancer, as well as the need for regular screening and healthy lifestyle habits among the women.
Mrs. Lovette Ebiowe particularly encouraged attendees at the seminar to spread awareness about cancer within their communities and support those affected by the disease.
