A member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, has urged party faithful in Ogun State to be steadfast and work for the unity of party.
Adebutu spoke at the end of the year Get-together party of the Ogun Central Senatorial District PDP leaders in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He advised them to be forthright and stop fighting among themselves, saying that there are better days for the party in the State.
Adebutu said, “Well, Ogun Central met today, I am glad to be part of this meeting. I spoke with them on the need for unity, steadfastness. Yes, we have issues, difficulties in our society today. Sometimes, due to the weaponization of poverty, people are tempted to dissuade against their conscience”.
He added “But, we must appeal to people that it is important to be forthright and after a very dark night, there will be clear day. We will continue to encourage our people to be steadfast, tomorrow will be better .
Adebutu urged the party faithful to be firm as well as work for the progress and expansion of PDP in the State.
Also speaking, the Ogun Central Senatorial candidate of the party at the last elections, Hon Aderinokun noted that the journey for 2027 has started.
He appealed to party faithful to work for the party, calling on leaders and youths of the party to stop in – house fights.
His words, “2027 is at the corner, we must start to work for the party. I will do whatever that will make sure the party win in 2027. Don’t let’s fight again , if we continue fighting , enemies will continue to use it against us. The youths and leaders must work hard”.
In their different remarks, the State Chairman of the party, Rotarian Abayomi Tella, the Secretary, Hon Sunday Solarin and the Ogun Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon Jamiu Keshinro, called for the unity of the party, urging members at all levels to work for the party.
The trio, pleaded with the party faithfuls to bury their differences and work in bringing new members to the party, stressing that they need people in the party.
Other leaders of the party who spoke at the event, called for steadfastness of members in preparation towards the 2027 polls.
