Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has revealed that she was a victim of rape on five different occasions.
The actress shared the painful childhood experience in an interview with colleague Biola Bayo on the talk show, Talk to B.
According to her, she decided to fight any rapist unapologetically after discovering that many people are rape apologists, adding that she would not spare her own son if she discovered that he had raped someone.
She said, “I was raped five times in my life. I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists. I don’t care who the person is; if that person is my son, I am going to come for him unapologetically.”
The actress, who also revealed that she grew up with her grandmother, stated that she only met her mother when she was seven years old.
“I grew up with my grandmother, who is half Delta and half Igbo. I think I was seven before I knew my mother.”
While speaking about her relationship with her father, she revealed that she was disowned by him after she insisted on marrying her ex-husband.
She added that her father struggled with alcoholism and drug abuse, which tragically led to his death at the age of 49.
“My dad did everything—alcohol and drugs—so it messed him up at a young age. He died at 49,” she said.
On her relationship with controversial singer Naira Marley, she disclosed that, contrary to popular belief that she once had a cordial relationship with him, she has never physically met him in her life.
