Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo has appointed Chief Daniel Osikheme Orbih, the current South-South Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as chairman, Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, AAU.

Salient Times reports that Orbih’s appointment as the chairman of the Governing Council of the state-owned university was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Umar Musa Ikhilor.

Orbih was named chairman of the seven-man board of the university.

Other members of the board are
Martins Osakwe, Prof. Steve Amiemenkharu Iyayi, Lukman Muhammad, Prof. Idialu Jeremiah Uwaifo, Prof. Eric Kelly Inanemo Omogbai and Prof. Omoruyi Ikponmwonse Osahon.

Ikhilor said the appointment of the Governing Council takes immediate effect from December 31, 2024.

Salient Times reports that Orbih is an ally of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and a former governor of Rivers State.

Orbih is also the leader of the Legacy Group of the PDP in Edo State.
