Leading microfinance bank in Nigeria, Covenant Microfinance Bank Ltd. has extended its operations with the inauguration of a new branch in Akute, Ogun State, marking a significant stride in its mission to enhance financial inclusion and support economic growth in local communities.

The branch opening ceremony, held on Tuesday, brought together dignitaries, community leaders, and stakeholders, all celebrating the bank’s commitment to providing tailored financial services that address the unique needs of residents and businesses in Akute.

In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of Covenant Microfinance Bank, Deaconess Ebipre Oluyemi, described the new branch as a symbol of the bank’s unwavering dedication to accessible financial services. She emphasized the institution’s pivotal role in fostering economic development within the vibrant Akute community.

“This branch represents our resolve to empower individuals and businesses with innovative banking solutions. Our goal is to ensure that every customer, regardless of their background or financial experience, has access to the tools and support they need to succeed,” Oluyemi stated.

She expressed profound gratitude to the President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, for providing the platform that enabled the bank’s establishment and growth. Oluyemi also lauded the commitment of the bank’s directors, management, and staff, noting that their diligence has been instrumental in achieving the bank’s success.

The event featured goodwill messages from notable figures, including the Alakute of Akute, Oba Aliu Akindele, who offered prayers for the bank’s success in the community. Chief Soyinka S.O., Chairman of the Ifedara Community Development Association, hailed the bank’s arrival as a significant milestone for Akute residents.

“The inauguration of this microfinance branch brings great joy to our community. We believe its presence will foster growth and yield positive outcomes for our residents,” Soyinka said.

Representing the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Prof. Abiodun H. Adebayo, Prof. Olujide Adekeye reiterated the bank’s mission to empower individuals and create opportunities through accessible financial services. He described the bank as a beacon of hope for Akute’s residents, adding, “Together, we shall uplift lives and create a sustainable future.”

The Akute branch is expected to provide comprehensive financial solutions, including digital banking services, to foster economic empowerment and improve the standard of living in the community.

Covenant Microfinance Bank, a subsidiary of Covenant University, continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in community-focused banking, ensuring that financial services are accessible to all, particularly underserved populations.
