Speaking at a Special Thanksgiving Service in honor of His Royal Majesty, Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, Eze Oha Apara IV, the Governor emphasized that God’s guidance has strengthened his administration’s resolve.

The event, held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Shepard’s Hill Parish in Obio/Akpor, marked Eze Wodo’s appointment as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers’ Council (RSTRC). During the ceremony, Governor Fubara was presented with copies of the Holy Bible by church leaders.

Governor Fubara expressed a deep commitment to governing with a spirit of reverence, relying on God for direction and wisdom. He reframed the political hurdles his administration faces, saying, “What you are calling trouble is not trouble to me. I see it as God’s purpose for a new direction for our State.”

The governor noted that this sense of purpose has only strengthened his administration’s determination. “Rather than getting weak, we are getting stronger and bolder every day. We want to complete our work, and our story will be one of those who led with the fear of God,” he added.

Fubara underscored the importance of gratitude, saying thanksgiving reinforces God’s presence and clarity in uncertain times. “Even when situations seem unclear, thanksgiving brings assurance and a clearer vision,” he stated. Celebrating alongside Eze Wodo’s family, Fubara emphasized that his administration is built on a foundation of faith and trust in God’s purpose.

Expressing his support for the church’s work, Fubara donated N100 million to aid their evangelical mission as a tribute to Eze Wodo. He reiterated his belief in God’s timing, saying, “There is no prayer God does not answer. It’s like a deposit in a bank. We will continue to uphold the fear of God in everything we do.”

In his response, Eze Wodo, reflecting on his 78 years, credited God for guiding him through life’s trials and expressed his gratitude to Governor Fubara for the appointment and support. He praised the governor for his dedication to the people of Rivers State, remarking that Fubara’s leadership embodies the blessings he has enjoyed throughout his life.
