She said “We have heard of some of your works as a Senator and we know that the victory in this election is a clarion call to higher service for the benefit of the entire people of Edo State.

We believe you have the capability and foresight to deliver the much-needed development the people want. This victory is a testament to the trust the people of Edo state have placed in you. Congratulations once more on your well-deserved victory.”

The descendants appealed to the governor-elect and his deputy to use their good offices to help them get their late father’s entitlements from both the British and the Nigerian Governments.

She said “Sir Ededuna Walter Obaseki was a Captain of The British Merchant Navy, a Member of The Privy Council of The United Kingdom, a World War II Veteran and a recipient of the World II Campaigns and Gallantry Medals of Honour” and that over the years since his demise in 1939, they have not been able to get his entitlements for the hard work he did for the two countries and humanity.
