Although the flight had several empty seats, passengers praised the service, noting that it was understandable given the long hiatus
On Tuesday, an Emirates flight touched down at Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, marking the airline’s return after a two-year suspension of operations.
The suspension had been due to unresolved issues, including the airline’s trapped funds in Nigeria.
Flight EK 783, which arrived at 3:32 p.m. at the old terminal of MMIA, had several empty seats on its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Although the exact number of passengers was unclear, some passengers noted that many seats were vacant.
While passengers departing Lagos were processed at the new terminal, returning passengers arrived via the old terminal. The Boeing 777-300ER typically has a seating capacity of 392 passengers.
One passenger commented, “The flight was not full at all, but the services were very good as usual. And I think this is understandable being the first flight after many years.”
