Faudiya School belongs to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shiia sect in Nigeria.

According to sources, the assailants invaded Hausari quarters in Geidam LGA around 3:44am, on Friday, August 30, 2024.

A source told Daily Trust that the gunmen struck when the victims were sleeping.

“The incident occurred at around 3:44 am, when the gunmen invaded Faudiya School a well known Shiite school in Geidam,” the source said.

“They (gunmen) attacked the school when these youth were asleep and brought them outside and shot them d@ad.

“There is tension and concern in the town after this incident. People are terrified over this unfortunate incident.”

Another source from the vigilantes command told the publication that three members of Shiia sect were k!lled while one sustained injuries

“We don’t know who they (gunmen) are but, all we knew is that they killed three students in the school. One person who tried to escape during the incident was injured and he has been hospitalized,” h said.

The spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident but did not give details.
