The Benue Investment and Property Company, BIPC, is set to build a brewery in Makurdi to produce its beer brand at the end of the year while its packaged water and bread will be in the market by the end of May.

Making this known is the Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company BIPC Dr Raymond Asemakaha who disclosed the desire to established Brewery at kilometres 16 Makurdi -, Gboko road, saying that the move is based on an independent Survey carried out, indicating that the business is lucrative .

The M.D while speaking to journalists after familiarisation visit at ongoing projects on Tuesday in makurdi,revealed that discovery unveiled that alcoholic consumption were high in the State, stressing there is capital flight as those marketing alcoholic products are indigene from other Ethnic nationalities residing in the State.

He noted that out of the survey it was discovered those in breweries were making miles brisks business and smiling to the Bank with over seven hundred millions monthly

Besides these BIPC boss averred were floating bakery to produce quality breads as well as water company where ongoing construction saying the structure is at verge of completion.

The facilities visited included proposed Benue brewery as well as bakery and water company at Tse- Ayu – George Akume way in the State.

Dr. Asemakaha disclosed that the projects would gulp not fewer than 220million naira to be completed which according to him, we shall source for funds and ensure early completion.

He explained that the aim of establishing the beer company in the state is that it would be producing about 180,000 bottles per day as a result of the monthly sales of 870million naira of alcoholic content in the state which necessity the project more so to reduce the financial flight out of the state.

The MD called on Benue citizens to see the need of initiating business of their own as well collaborate with BIPC by being share holders in their companies.

BIPC boss asserted that efforts must be geared towards interface with indigenes to participate in accuring shares in various companies whenever it commence operations:
