On Friday evening, May 3, Teni shared a video of her screaming after spotting IBD Bende in the aircraft she boarded.

She went ahead to prostrate before the socialite and then hugged him.

Her video was greeted with criticisms from some Nigerians who argued that she allegedly failed to shake former President Muhammad Buhari when she was conferred a National honour last year but could prostrate before a socialite who has been accused of being a smuggler.

Reacting to the criticisms, Teni in a post shared on her X handle disclosed that she met the socialite sometime in 2014 and that he was good to her even before she became a music star.

She said she had no knowledge of any criminal activity associated with him and that she would never support a criminal.

“MET IBD IN 2014 AND HE WAS SO GOOD TO ME, EVEN BEFORE I BLEW UP, SO WHEN I SEE HIM, ITS ALWAYS LOVE. I HONESTLY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH HIM. I DO NOT SUPPORT CRIMINALS, SO LET THE LAW TAKE ITS COURSE
