University of Nigeria Alumni Association holds NEC/delegates meeting in Ogun

The 109th National Executive Council and Delegates meeting of the Ogun State chapter of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association (UNAA) under the leadership of Hon. Adesola Akeeb, will hold from Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st April, 2024.

Venue of the four-day meeting is Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The theme for this year’s meeting is “Mitigating the Contemporary Social Issues for Agroprennial Development in Nigeria; View Point of a University Scholar”, which will be delivered by Prof. (Lion) James Banjo of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun.

Prior to the meeting, delegates will pay courtesy visit to Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Aremu Gbadebo.

They will also visit some historical sites including; the 1st Church in Nigeria, St. Peter, Ake, Adire Market, Itoku, Olumo Rock, Oyan Dam, Adire Market, Asero, amongst others.

The Chairman, Appropriation Committee of the Senate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola is the Chairman at the grand finale of the annual conference on Saturday.

Other personalities expected to grace the grand finale include, Mr. Peter Obi, Senator (Otunba) Gbenga Daniel, Amb. Tunji Sarafa Ishola, Hon. Kehinde Sogunle, Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde O. Kehinde.

The royal fathers expected include, Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland; Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Gbadebo, Olu of Yewaland; Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Olugbenle, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) O A Matemilola.

The programme will be wound off with gala nite by the host branch on Saturday evening, after the NEC meeting as all members are encouraged to join in the celebration
