Ebonyi First Lady settles Medical Bills Of indigent Patients’

In the spirit of the Easter celebration, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Thursday, paid the medical bills of 12 indigent patients at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki.
Nwifuru, the founder of Better Health for Rural Women children and Internally Displaced Foundation, BERWO, paid the bills in the spirit of the Easter celebration.
The Wife of the governor said that the donation was for indigent patients who could not pay their hospital bills due to lack of funds.
“This offer was for those who were indebted to the hospitals because of their inability to pay their medical bills,’’ she said.
She visited the Antenatal, neonatal unit, Paediatric Surgery, postnatal, Children Emergency wards where she showered gift items on babies and mothers.
In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Prof Robinson Onoh, commended the governor’s wife on her dedication to the well-being of women and children across the state, applauding her gesture of offsetting the medical bills of the indigent patients.
Chief Mrs Nwifuru also visited the st Vincent the Paul old people’s home in Abakaliki to provide food and gift items to them for the Easter celebration.
She asked them to continue praying for the present administration of the state as they will continue to take care of them.
The state governor’s wife was accompanied on the visit by BERWO Foundation team, wives of government functionaries and AEFUTHA top management staff.
