Benue State Governor Rev.Fr Hyacinth Alia has proposed Eight names to constitutes Benue State independent Electoral Commission Bsiec in the State.

Governor making the proposal on Thursday at Benue Government house on Thursday in Makurdi,Benue capital city asserted those to be appointed includes Dr John Chen as Chairman of the commission

While Secretary went to Dr Gisaor Vincent other members are Terhemen Shom, Theodore Iordye Uchi, Solomon Aikighe, Deva, Edache Isaac, Mrs Gloria Clement, as well as Peter Baba Ogagbola.

The Governor Hyacinth Alia has forwarded their names before house of Assembly for confirmation saying the list contained eight the other is to served as chairman and members

The Governor says the nominees have been considered suitable based on their track records, and will be responsible for the conduct of elections into the Local Government areas in the State.

He charges them to be fair, just and always consider the interest of the state above theirs in the discharge of their duties to ensure development of the state.

He therefore wishes them best of luck in their new assignment which soonest would comence.

It could be recalled that after the expiration of the two term tenure of immediate past Governor Samuel 0rtom administration the commission vacuum was created.
