Betty Akeredolu Berates Husband’s Niece For Backing Aiyedatiwa’s Gov. Ambition
Betty Akeredolu-Anyanwu has berated her late husband a former Governor of Ondo State Rotimi Akeredolu’s niece for allegedly backing the governorship ambition of Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Betty blasted Akeredolu’s niece Funke Akeredolu-Aruna for supporting the current governor of Ondo State Aiyedatiwa in his quest to pick the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the governorship election in the state.
“Behold the face of Aketi’s niece, Funke Akeredolu Aruna, the former deputy chief protocol to Aketi, shamelessly parades as “I’M LUCKY,” she wrote.
“Time will tell if she is truly lucky!” Betty added.
Funke was a former deputy chief of protocol in the state. Betty’s outrage came after her late husband’s niece shared a photo of herself on social media wearing an outfit to support Aiyedatiwa.
While many have faulted her comments, the development is a continuation of the faceoff between Akeredolu’s wife and Aiyedatiwa.
Before Akeredolu’s demise in December, the duo had been in animosity owing to claims of disloyalty from Aiyedatiwa who was the then Ondo State deputy governor.
While there were attempts to impeach Aiyedatiwa over claims of financial racketeering, he was later sworn in as the Ondo State governor after Akeredolu’s death.
