Old Students of FGC, Maiduguri elect Deji Eniseyin, Others as new Exco members
A legal Practitioner, Barrister Deji Eniseyin has been elected as the new chairman of the five-man state executive council of the Old Students Association of Federal Government College, Maiduguri, Ogun State chapter.
He and other Executive members were elected to pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.
The election which was held during the December monthly meeting of the chapter in Abeokuta, marked the end of a 3-man committee put in place in July, 2023, to nurture the fledgling chapter of the alumni association.
After the election supervised by a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and representative of the Diaspora branch of the association, Mr.Dele Olugbemi and Vice President, Southwest, Mrs. Sholakunmi Adebayo, Barrister Deji Enisenyin emerged as the chairman of the five-man state executive council.
Other members elected are AdeSegun Taiwo, Vice Chairman; Bimpe Akinlade, Secretary; Prof Joy Odedina, Treasurer and Mrs Funmi Idiat Oniyide, Publicity Secretary.
In his charge, the BoT member, Olugbemi, told the newly elected executive members to ensure they carry their duties in accordance with the provision of the aims and objectives of the constitution of the association, considering the fact that those that have elected them have fulfilled the relevant provisions of the constitution by paying their dues.
He further urged them to use their respective expertise and experience in running the affairs and grow the Ogun State chapter of the old students association of Federal Government College, Maiduguri, to an enviable height.
On her part, Mrs Adebayo, admonished the new Exco not to betray the confidence and trust of their members, calling on them to uplift the association and make it a rallying point for similar associations in the state.
Responding on behalf of the new Exco members, Enisenyin, said efforts will be made to ensure that the association performs its mandate as dictated by its constitution.
While thanking members of the association for electing him and his members, the chairman called for support and collaboration of members in order for the new Exco to function optimally.
