Ebonyi: Ex-deputy Speaker dumps PDP for APC

A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and former Ebonyi State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker Hon.Odefa Obasi Odefa has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Chief Odefa made the switch alongside about 500 of his supporters from the Onicha East Constituency.
Speaking, Chief Odefa said his decision to pitch tent with the APC was to rally round the Governor in his concerted efforts to transforming the State having studied his good intentions as captured in the People’s Charter of Needs manifesto.
Responding, the Governor, Francis Nwifuru said the door of the All Progressives Congress, APC was wide open to accommodate all well-intentioned individuals into the Party.
While assuring the defectors that they would be availed level playing field in the APC, Governor Nwifuru called on them to join hands with him to develop the State.
It would be recalled that Right Honourable Odefa Obasi Odefa represented Onicha East in the State House of Assembly between 2007 to 2023.
He was the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly
