16-year-old girl raped after getting drunk in church
A 16-year-old girl has been raped after she got drunk during an annual church event in Ogun State.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, in a statement on Friday.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun, Omolola Odutola, the victim’s aggrieved mother reported to the police that her 16-year-old daughter, who got drunk during an annual church year anniversary celebration on the 6th of November, 2023, in Adubi, Ogun State, was raped.
Odutola quoted the mother has having said that she had taken her daughter to “a nearby bar shop and locked her there”.
She explained that the teenager later “became victim to one Gbenga Kolawole “m” 32yrs who had unlawful carnal knowledge of the drunk girl”.
Odutola said, Kolawole was caught in the act by one Mr Sunday Ibrahim of the same address.
“The victim has been taken to Ore Ofe Hospital for medical attention and treatment while the suspect has been arrested for preliminary investigation,” Odutola disclosed.
