Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta have expressed deep condolences upon the death of the immediate past Chairman, of the Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson.

While reacting to the shocking News, the Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji ascribed Iyalode’s demise at age 72 to the will of God, but a great loss to the generation.

In a statement issued and signed by Yemi Ajibola, Head, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, Dr Odedeji noted Late Alaba Lawson numerous impacts on the development of the Polytechnic not only as the Governing Council Chairman but also as a great personality of the State.

“Iyalode Alaba Lawson saddled the affairs of MAPOLY from December 2013 to December 2016 with many laudable and indelible developmental projects.

“She was well known as an educationist, philanthropist, disciplinarian and a role model to great minds globally.

Odedeji prayed, on behalf of the Governing Council, Staff and Students of the Polytechnic that God will give her family, loved ones and people of the State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
