The octogenarian, alongside Anjorin Lisa Akingboye, 62, Okoriseh Monday, 41; Fadayomi Omosuyi, 50, and Obayelu Oladapo, 45, were charged with conspiracy and murder.

The prosecutor, Inspector Folasade Adeyemi, told the court that the defendants and others at large committed the offences on June 21, 2023, at Oko-Igbo farm Ayeka via Okitipupa, in the Ondo State Magisterial District.

Adeyemi alleged that the defendants killed Olibamoyo, 45, with a machete.

The offence, he said, contravened Sections 319 (1), 316 (1) 342, the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of the Ondo State Nigeria 2006.

However, the pleas of the defendants were not taken.

She, therefore, urged the court to remand them in Olokuta Correctional Centre, to forward their case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), for advice.

Their counsel, Ilemobayo Akinbote, prayed the court to adjourn the case to enable him to reply to the application.

He pointed out that his clients were served the remand application the previous day, hence asked for a date to reply to the application.

In her ruling, Magistrate A.O. Mayowa-Idowu granted the request of the defendant’s counsel.

She adjourned the case till Wednesday, July 19, for a ruling on the remand application.
