LP in a statement signed by Dr Abayomi, the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, said the emergence of the Abia Senator and the Anambra House of Representatives member demonstrate the belief of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the important place, of the will, of the Nigerian people, for a robust Nigeria.

“The National Working Committee Led by Comrade, Lamidi Apapa, congratulate these two Nigerians from the stock of the Labour Party /Obi-dient movement and demands that they remain steadfast on the path of the Nigerian people and nation-building.

“Nigeria must be connected and sustain such connection to the comity of nations, especially, at a time like this when we need the nation to grow well along the path of all hands being on the deck for the growth and development of Nigeria.

“The challenge ahead of the nation is huge and only an inclusive government can gradually lead the nation on the path of growth.

“The choice of Senator Darlington Nwokeocha, of the Labour Party from Abia Central as Minority Whip in the Upper Legislative Chamber and Hon. George Ozidinobi from Anambra as the Deputy Minority Whip speaks volume of our participatory governance.

“Such fluid representation in our political history would engender fair development across board as all geopolitical shades and colour are represented in the leadership of the symbol of democracy in the biggest black legislature.

“While the Labour Party cannot be said to be regional, it provided a platform for spread representation to Nigerians and a voice for our people.

We salute the National Assembly Leadership for respecting the party outcome of party wide consultation and birthing this development. We are proud of our party feat in the National assembly and we congratulate the duo of our senatorial and federal constituent representation energized to protect the overall interest of Nigeria.
