Following series of attacks on its leadership and accusation of been sponsored by the opposition All Progressives Congress, Labour Party has said that the crisis rocking the Party will soon be of the past.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi said this while speaking to newsmen in Abeokuta.

Arabambi who was reacting to the recent ‘illegal’ National Executive Council meeting of the Party held in Asaba and the communique from the said meeting, said the NEC Meeting was illegal , of no consequence ,Null and Void

He said contrary to the allegation that the current National Working Committee led by Alh Bashiru Lamidi Apapa is been sponsored by APC to destabilize the Party and work against the mandate of Mr Peter Obi, Arabambi said the current leadership of the Party remains committed to the actualisation of Obi-Datti mandate and the only way to achieve this is when the Party itself practice true democracy base on the respect for the Rule of Law

“The Labour Party has of recent continue to purge itself of some bad elements who continue to perpetrate series of illegal activities by forging seal of the court , forge the stamp of the commissioner for OATH and even criminally produces their own receipt from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) , milk the Party and unsuspecting Party members and the general public of their hard earned money.

“These grossly incompetent and disgruntled individuals rather than purge themselves of their criminal acts and tendencies also continue to blame opposition party as the sponsor of their travails.

“Let’s put it on record that Alhaji Bashiru Lamidi Apapa and some of us calling for a better leadership for Our great Party are doing so based on the belief that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. We have all facts and figure to put before the general public, including the uninformed members of Labour Party, that those who cried fouls today are just trying to call dogs bad name in order to hang it.

“There had been series of peace moves to ensure that the current imbroglio that is ravaging the fastest growing Party in Africa does not degenerate to this level as when we discovered the fraud being perpetrated by the former National Chairman Barrister Julius Abure and his co-travellers, we called them to order, but because he thought he was above the law, he failed to listen to the voice of reason and continued to neck deep in perpetrating more atrocities.

“In simple terms, Abure and others are the architect of their misfortunes, so nobody should blame All Progressive Congress APC for their misdemeanor and somersault

Dr Abayomi Arabambi added that Abure knew what he was doing as all his steps shows that he was working for PDP even right from his State in Edo.

We knew his romance with the Governor of Edo State, how he negotiated for N2bilion to work for PDP in the last General election and his move to ensure that the current Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shuaib emerge as the LP Governorship flagbearer against all odds. This are facts he can’t denied because I became aware of that arrangements when I took some political friends of one of our Presidential aspirant in person of Faduri Joseph (AKA ) to Benin in EDO State to pay for his presidential nomination forms

Again, the ongoing legal means of reclaiming the mandate of Peter Obi ought to be total. We saw that LP is fighting APC and Bola Ahmed Tinubu to regain the mandate of Our Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi. Has anybody then asked Abure and others while they did not join Abubakar Atiku and PDP as defendants at the tribunal.

The petition by Peter Obi and Labour Party before the presidential election petition appears to have been prepared to fail by the deliberate efforts of the Former National Chairman Julius ABURE.

How on earth will you sue and claiming to be the winner of an election, you only sued the winner, and left out the 1st runner up in the election. Peter Obi is acting like someone that is working for the PDP. If not that he is working for PDP, why will he be filling a petition without adding PDP who came 2nd in the election. Assuming the Tribunal nullifies or disqualified Tinubu as the winner, that mean, Atiku Abubakar of PDP will be the beneficiaries of the struggle and not Labour Party .

In case a rerun is even ordered, will it be between Asiwaju TINUBU and Peter Obi who came 3rd or between Atiku and OBI. One then begins to ask why did Former National Chairman Julius ABURE criminally deceived Peter Obi not add Atiku and PDP as respondent in the Petition if not that he has compromise since the beginning

With the INEC claim that Atiku Abubakar scored 6,984,520, we knew there is the need to also join his Party, the candidate because we are very sure that PDP too did not have the number allotted to it by INEC.

Abure knew this, he failed to advice that PDP and its candidate should be joined at the tribunal rather than leaving us to be challenging APC victory alone which is dangerous. All these are what we told Abure and others and that was the reason they were fighting us.

On the recent primaries been conducted by Abure and others, we know that Abure and other members of the party suspended and restrained by the FCT High Court had no business conducting the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on April 18, 2023 in Asaba, Delta State capital and gubernatorial primaries in KOGI, BAYELSA AND IMO.

Labour party has commence committal proceedings against those law breakers which include

1 NLC PRESIDENT JOE AJAERO
2 JULIUS ABURE
3 UMAR FAROUK IBRAHIM
4 OLUCHI OPARA
5 CLEMENT OJUKWU
AND 10 other former state Chairmen from

They had no business conducting primary elections in: Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States in the first instance, as their illegal actions of conducting gubernatorial Primaries in those states amounted to contempt of court order.

The action may also hunt our candidates in future if we allow it to go unchallenged and we have already commences action in court to set aside the purported Hennessically inclined National Executive Council (NEC) meeting
