Pandemonium occured at Ilaro in Yewa South Local government area of Ogun State when some political thugs invaded the home of Abiola Animasaun Abdulrahman,an Aide to Popular Ogun West Politician, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye and set the house ablaze after beating residents of the area to a pulp.
The crisis which could be related to a pre-election related violence saw the hoodlums attacking the home of Abiola Animashaun Abdulrahman , who is said to be a strong supporter of the African Democratic Congress governorship Candidate, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye.
It could be recalled that three major political parties in the state, the All Progressives Congress, APC, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Africa Democratic Congress, ADC, have continued to thread blame over the destruction.
This is even as the Commissioner of Police in the state, appealed for calm from residents of the state over the attacks allegedly carried out by suspected political thugs loyal to the ruling APC in the state.
The CP who spoke to journalists after his assessment visits to Ilaro said the level people take politics in the State is alarming saying that through the action many people have lost their lives.
Condemning the attacks and destruction of Abiola Animasaun Abdulrahman’ property worth millions of naira in Ilaro, Yewa South local government area, the police commissioner described the incident as barbaric and man’s inhumanity to man.
He decried the wanton carnage and said the destruction of the House located at School 2 area, Orita, Ilaro Ogun State is unfortunate warned against any reprisal.
He also sympathize with victims during the assessment visits.
Narrating his ordeal, a neighbor to Abiola Animashaun Abdulrahman who spoke to journalists on condition of anonymity said that the attack and burning of Abiola Animashaun Abdulrahman house is very bad, saying that if the assailants had met the man or any of his household at home, they would have killed them during the attack.
He said that the suspected political thugs invaded the compound and shot sporadically before setting the house ablaze.
“He lost everything; as you can see, no pin was removed from the burnt down houses.
“Those of us that are his neighbor now live in fear as no one knows when the hoodlums will attack again with their AK 47 rifles and other weapons.
“I am appealing to police to beef up security in the community and I am also calling on state and Federal governments to come to our aids
