Atiku defeats Tinubu, Peter Obi in Osun
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun emerged the party with the highest number of votes in the state in the presidential election.
The presidential election was held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 throughout the country.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Officer for Osun State, Professor Folasade Ogunsola made this known at the INEC collation centre, Osogbo on Sunday.
According to Professor Ogunsola who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, the PDP polled 354,366 votes to lead the pack with the APC coming second with 343,945 votes.
Labour Party came a distant third with a distant 23,283 votes.
Inline with the Electoral Act, the result will be transmitted to the INEC National Collation Centre in Abuja.

Collation of the presidential and National Assembly elections results from States have commenced at the National Collation of Centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The collation, which was supposed to have commenced at 12 noon on Sunday, was shifted to 6pm to allow the Resident Electoral Officers, arrive with the results from their states.
Results are expected to come in from the 36 States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
INEC had directed that voting ended by 12 noon in areas where the exercise was suspended for varying reasons.
It was gathered that the presidential election is keenly being contested by the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the Labour Party, LP.
These leading candidates include Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
