ADP governorship candidate vows to ‘radically’ transform Ogun state
Hon. Olanrewaju Kazeem Sokunbi the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party in Ogun State, has unveiled his plans to “radically transform” the state if elected governor in March 11.
The action plan, christened “Ogun Economic Development for Social Transformation”, was unveiled at stakeholder meeting held at Ayetoro town hall, Yewa North Local government area of Ogun State and attended by friends, party members, professional colleagues and top politicians.
The ADP candidate said he plans to re-engineer the political environment in the state by providing access to basic facilities.
He said the state must do everything to reverse some of the negative indexes in the state, particularly childbirth mortality rate, out- of-school children and unemployment among youth, women, and other vulnerable groups.
“We have high rate of pregnant women that die at births. We have out of school children. These are very terrible.
“What we want to do is to re-engineer the political landscape in Ogun State, so that people will have a sense of ownership of the state. People must understand that the state belong to them. And the only way to do that is to reverse these trend” Hon. Sokunbi said.
The governorship hopeful said in actualising his vision to transform Ogun State, critical areas of focus have been clearly identified in the short, medium and long terms to serve as a guide.
“This vision involves careful planning, resource allocation, monitoring and control practices as well as processes that support the creation of the Ogun State of the Future (BotF), a state with a virile economy, thriving agricultural and industrial infrastructure and other critical sectors underpinned by a strong service sector.
“The game changers will radically alter how things are done in the identified priority areas, this ensuring that successful and tangible results are achieved towards steering our state to the runway of the Ogun of our dreams,” he said.
He pleaded with the people to go for their permanent voters card and come out on March 11 to vote for the Party so that the good programmes his party have for the people can be easily be achieved .
At the programme many All Progressives Congress members joined the ADP.
