2023: Ogun ADP Governorship candidate storms Yewa South, promises rural development
The Ogun state Action Democratic Party (ADP) governorship candidate, Olanrewaju Kazeem Sokunbi, on Thursday stormed Ilaro, Yewa South local government area of the State, and promised to focus on infrastructural development in rural areas when voted into office.
The ADP candidate made this promise during a Town Hall meeting for leaders from Yewa South local government area where he interacted with stakeholders.
Hon. Sokunbi said that the past administrations have abandoned the rural areas thereby contributing immensely to rural urban drift.
He lamented that the Urban Renewal Programme of the present APC led government lacks focus, hence is being done at the detriment of those who feed the state, promising to strike a balance between the urban and rural dwellers.
He promised to complete all ongoing Urban Renewal Projects and focus more on the rural areas, adding that ” I will build roads, schools and modern facilities as Governor of Ogun state. ”
The ADP candidate also said that his administration will embark on youth empowerment with focus on skills acquisition programmes.
He added that government will support youths and women after the empowerment programmes.
According to the governorship hopeful, his government can not employ all the teeming youths in Ogun state but his administration will aim at making them self sufficient and employers of labour.
The gubernatorial candidate also said leaders and elites at all levels should give brilliant and indigent students scholarship, adding that education should not be left to government alone.
Hon. Olanrewaju advised political office holders not to joke with the security of the people
