Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has said that the state is one of the most peaceful states in the country.

Makinde made this disclosure on Wednesday.

He spoke while receiving members of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomoso Governing Council in Ibadan, the state capital.

The institution located in Ogbomoso geo-political zone of the state is one of the federal polytechnics established recently by the federal government.

The governor while receiving members of the governing council led by Professor Dakas James, said that contrary to insinuations, Oyo state is one of the most peaceful states in the country.

He said that the new institution will operate in a safe and secured environment.

Makinde said, “Let me also say this without any fear of contradiction that Oyo is one of the safest states in Nigeria.
