Labour Party Crisis: Arabambi backs off from peace move, warns against misinformation by Lagos LP
The crisis rocking the Labour Party has taken a new dimension as the Publicity Secretary of the Party, Dr Abayomi Arabambi has back off the peace move instituted by some leaders of the Party.
In a statement he personally signed and copy of which was sent to Our Correspondent, Dr Arabambi who was reacting to the recent publication issued by the Caretaker Chairman and Secretary of Lagos chapter of Labour Party said the efforts to tarnish his image by the duo has negated the peace move by some leaders in the Party.
He said lately, there are series of actions and misrepresentation going on in the media about his personality and the crisis rocking the Labour Party in Lagos state.
“Much as I will not delve into the details of the whole episode, but the little that is in the public domain is that I, Dr Abayomi Arabambi will never work against the interest of the Party I assisted to nurture to this level it is now, to those with discerning minds, I leave you to your conscience.
“Recently following the attacks, some eminent Party members have approached me on ways to resolve the whole crisis amicably, and in spite of the facts that there was serious infraction on my right to fair hearing before my purported illegal suspension and the dissolution of Ogun LP state executive council led by Comrade Ashade Michael as Chairman and Engr Feyisola Michael as state secretary, We were unperturbed because we know that all the shenanegans going on now will all fail like a pack of cards.
“Let me say that it took the intervention of COMRADE KENNEDY IYERE, COMRADE PAUL OBAZELE AND MRS PATIENCE OZORKOR popularly know and called MAMA G before my humble and legal team agreed to some form of resolution.
“That even up till yesterday Wednesday the 14th day of December, the National Chairman has agreed to peaceful resolution of the Crisis through Comrade KENNEDY IYERE and Comrade Paul OBAZELE and a decision was reached where all members of LP in Lagos State including the Current caretaker Chairman and Secretary were warned by Comrade KENNEDY IYERE and Comrade Paul OBAZELE never to heat up the political atmosphere against my person and legal team but they rebuff this advise and proceeded to malign the name and reputation of my legal team, led by the sagacious Barr. Monday Mawah and my humble self.
The Publicity Secretary said further that, “the suit instituted by the said team that Salako and Sam are vilifying and condemning now is the same suit that was upheld by the Eminent Jurist of the Court of Appeal.
“I need not mention to Salako and his co-horts that the implication of the judgment of the Court of Appeal delivered on the 18th of Nov, 2022 is to effect that the Judge that dismissed the case of Lagos State was wrong and Mawah and his team was right in their position before the lower court, contrary to the position taken or currently being paraded by Salako and his co-horts.
“I think I need to also mention to Salako and his co-horts that the same Arabambi said legal team they are castigating is the same legal team that just got judgement from the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta in favour of all candidates Labour Party in Ogun State.
“By the said judgement, all the candidates in Ogun are now to be on the ballots. The same legal are the one that also got judgment last month invalidating or nullifying all the candidates that emerged on the platform of Africa Democratic Congress in other to pave more way or chances for Labour party candidates to win the forthcoming General Elections.
“In view of this political rascality on display by both the caretaker Chairman of Lagos and Secretary, I, Dr Arabambi Abayomi with my legal team have decided to withdraw from the peace accord and pursue our matter legally as it is our belief that if we allow lies to linger, it may be misrepresented to be the truth.
“Having set the record straight , it is important that comments made sometimes by those we think are sensible and honest is a manifestation that they substantially lacks the capacity to correctly understand the complexities in rational thinking needed to be a responsible public commentator .
“While I will temporarily moved to the political trenches preparatory to launch an unprecedented attacked at this crops of enemies slightest provocation , I remains very resolute to defend the Constitution of Labour Party and federal Republic of Nigeria
