Six months after promising to host Tunde Onakoya, founder of Chess in Slums Africa (CISA) and his protégés, Mr Elumelu made good on his promise on Saturday.

Mr Onakoya posted a photo to Twitter of Elumelu shaking hands with Fawaz. He said, “Just about a year ago, Fawaz was a bus conductor living under Oshodi bridge, today he got to hang out with one of the coolest billionaires in the world. This is what dreams are made of.”

Elumelu, a multi-billionaire and philanthropist, also tweeted about his excitement to finally host the chess gurus at the Heirs Holdings team bonding event.

He wrote, “It was great to finally host @Tunde_OD and his brilliant protégés at the @Heirs_Holdings team bonding event. I am very impressed by what he does through @chessinslums. Keep it up!”

Onakoya revealed that CISA children’s team defeated Heirs Holdings 5-1 in chess games.

He added, “I’m throwing an open Chess challenge to any private company in Nigeria. If our kids beat your team, you have to sponsor their education for one year. Deal?”
